Tashi Kennel is home to AKC Registered Champion Tibetan Terriers. We are located in Western New York in the village of Scottsville, which is just South of Rochester halfway between Buffalo and Syracuse. We are easily accessible by the New York Thruway (I-90) from the East and West, by I-390 from the South and I-590 from the North. We are a small show kennel with a limited breeding program.

Our goal is to produce to the Standard and improve our line. However, temperament is equally important. We strive for, happy, healthy socialized puppies. We had two litters of puppies in March 2023.

Black & white girl & 2 sable & white girls

Pandy’s puppies – 3 femalesI acquired my first TT “Shailey” in 2002 and became involved in Obedience training at The Dog Obedience Training Center of Rochester. It wasn’t long, however, before we were being advised that we should take handling classes and show in conformation. That was just the beginning. It wasn’t long before she was a Champion and then Smokey and Lucy came to join us. So began our breeding program and attending dog shows became a way of life. All Tashi TTs are members of the family as well as show dogs. They are my little kids and they live in the house with some sleeping in the bedroom. There are no kennel runs. They run and play “catch me if you can” with each other in the back yard. Puppies are kept in the family room and kitchen where they are the center of attention and underfoot.

I am a member of the Tibetan Terrier Club of America, listed on their Breeder Referral List, an AKC Breeder of Merit and exhibitor of AKC Champion Tibetan Terriers. All Tashi Tibetan Terriers are health tested. Health tested parents ensure healthy puppies. They have CERF certificates for their eyes, OFA certificates for hips and all have tested clear (normal) for PLL (Primary Lens Luxation) and NCL/CCCL. All puppies are wormed, current on their shots, vet checked with a health certificate, AKC registered and come with a written health guarantee.

Tashi Kennel2012 was a quiet year for us with only 1 litter. However, that litter produced Tashi’s Stealing Your Heart “Steely Dan”. He’s a beautiful black and white puppy and seems to love people and going to dog shows. He won his first point at his second show in November. I showed him in Hamburg, NY 3 days and he won two days. I showed him in Syracuse the end of March, 2013 and and he won two 4 point majors. It didn’t take long before he was a Champion too. 2014 was more exciting with 2 litters born May 10th and May 15th. It was a very busy summer!! I showed Kimsey and Frosty Bear, two puppies from the May, 2014 litters. Frosty won Winners dog and Best of Winners all 3 days at the Hamburg shows Jan. 2015 and Kimsey won reserves. We did shows in Syracuse the end of March and he continued his winning ways.  He became a new Champion in June at a show in Ohio. We will continue to show him occasionally with the goal of finishing his Grand Championship.  He only needs 7 more points!  We did shows in Syracuse and showed Kimsey and Samantha. They both won reserve there. We’re not showing Kimsey any longer but continued showing Samantha, a puppy from our Feb. 2015 litter. Samantha became a really nice show girl and the judges loved her. She won her first points in Hamburg in January, 2016 and finished her Championship in June, 2016 with 4 majors. I’m now showing Jolene, a puppy from a Pandy Nov. 2015 litter. She won Best of Opposite in 4-6 month puppy at the Tibetan Terrier National and now has 6 points towards her Championship. She still needs 1 more major to become a champion. I had a new puppy in 2018 and named him Fonzie “Tashi’s Happy Days”.  I showed him in the New Castle Shows when he turned 9 months.  He won the first day with a winners dog and a Best of Breed over a champion for a 5 point major.  He won the next day for a 3 point major. The next 2 days he won 2 points each along with a Best of Opposite Sex over a Champion.  The following week I showed him at the Dunkirk shows where he won another 3 point major the first day to become a New Champion.  If you see us at a show, stop and say “Hi” and if you’re interested in learning more about the breed and getting to know them, we welcome visitors at Tashi Kennel.  Samantha and McDreamy will have a litter of puppies about Sept. 30, 2020 and Rosie and Fonzie will have puppies in October, 2020.
